Tvheadend libreelec

Added by Alessio Pollero about 4 years ago. Hi, I'm just wondering if it is possible to export all the available channels inside tvheadend as an m3u playlist file so that I can open the exported file with VLC or any other player that supports the format and watch the TV directly from there, without having to pass through the tvheadend web interface.

The protocol that I want to use to play the files is standard pass though without any transcoding. You could use one of the following scripts to generate a playlist. It is not very secure since it will include the user:password, but if that doesn't bother you For all enabled services:! For all enabled channels:! To see the output in a more readable format, try: python -m json. Thanks a lot for your contribution!

Works perfect. Thank you! I already have mediatomb up and running on my tvheadend machine Ubuntu 14 with just a couple of TV channels configured by hand, so your script would fill in the gap. You're correct, those errors popped up when running that last command that should inject the channels into the mediatomb database.

It's the default mediatomb packaged installed with apt-get, so i'm pretty sure it's using sqllite. I will give it another shot tomorrow, hope i manage to run it successfully.

Long live virtual machines! I was not able to download the m3u file with the links using the above mentioned solutions. I have not tried with linux Anything yo get from the htv server at least will be proxying the packets, unless yo use the mux URL from api o the media fall on no profile and switch to something I call, all-pass.

You're confused. This switch will force tvh to use linked ffmpeg library for the container conversion for the given mux. I know that, but usually providers push m3u playlist in ts format, including a lot of streams on it in diferent formats mp4, mp3, etc. I am just trying to find a way to get their need met.

If they are the same, why are they not working? Both are streams of video, both they are not handled in the same way Sign in Register. Search : Tvheadend.August 15, This is a BETA of our 8. Hello all! I have countless hours invested in trying to troubleshoot this and i am turning to you all for help! I am running HTS Tvheadend 4. My source of my video feeds is simply over the air local channels that i pick up with a simple home antenna that is then wired into my Raspberry Pi3 with a Hauppauge USB TV Tuner card.

The audio almost never lines up because the HD video is as if i placed it in super slow-mo. All SD channels are fine and are very watchable.

A couple things i tested: When i record something on the backend and watch it on the front end it is fine. Whether it be SD or HD it is fine. I then tried to watch HD cahnnels on my high end PC with Kodi setup as a front end and that also works fine. I know it really isnt an issue with hardware since the Shield TV is one of the highest end units available right now.

I am thinking i am missing some setting somewhere! Slow-motion on hd video can also mean, that hardware acceleration is not working and CPU on player side is overloaded. Old versions had the option, the new versions seem to have this taken away. I even tried to disable the other stream profile to "force" it to use Pass but this disables my capability to stream altogether. I also went into the settings of Kodi front end PVR client and specified that i wanted to use the Pass profile.

However this just fails as well stating there isnt any Pass stream profile available when there certainly is one enabled and ready on the backend. I thought this was high but i am using a Shield. Arent these supposed to be able to take anything we throw at them!? If it can play 4k movies it should be able to handle p over the air TV without a problem, right?!

But mpeg2 in HD and acceleration not sure. If it's possible to transcode to H on this PI, it will be better solution. Hmmmm, no?

This seems to be some spam bs. This has nothing to do with my post. How do we report user for removal? Let me explain.Thank you jfabernathy for confirming that sd4tvh works on the new RPi4. That is good news. Okay, now I need some help. So I thought I'd check if it was RPi4 related. Got that working and then moved on to sd5tvh. Without changing anything in the server configure I set everything up using the web interface. Not that I'm aware of.

The process to set up sd4tvh is a tad confusing because it requires running the "Re-run Internal EPG Grabbers" two times. I didn't see any obvious issue in the log file and I have re-run multiple times with the same missing xmltv.

So I used the Kodi interface and worked with sd4tvh addon and looked at the selected and deselected channels not changing anything but when I exited and re-ran the internal grabbers this time I got the list of channels and then I could add them in to the EPG source for each station.

After editing I could then re-run the grabber to get all of the EPG for 3 days. It's possible that the step where you " worked with sd4tvh addon and looked at the selected and deselected channels not changing anything " did make a difference. It seems that the filter. Depending on the settings this might make the difference between sd4tvh working or not. I think I always go into this last sd4tvh menu option. More testing is needed to see if this step is always required at least with the current code in 0.

So I have it working but a question arises. Does it create problems or does it leave the channels where I selected sd4tvh in the EPG Source alone? When I had multiple grabbers enabled at the same time it seemed to me that the data from the last one run would be reflected in the listings. In the end I disabled all other EPG grabbers and left only the sd4tvh one enabled.

LibreELEC (Leia) 9.0.1 MR

I've been running tvheadend with sd4tvh on a Raspberry Pi 3B since November, and the system has been very reliable for me. The Kodi frontend crashes from time to time, but for the most part the tvheadend backend server continues recording shows.

On very rare occasions I have discovered that somehow the whole OS crashes in a bad way, but I've also had these rare hangs in MythTV my main PVR in the house and with my normal Kubuntu desktop, so I don't think that any one of these is more unreliable than any other not like the days when I used to run, or should I say keep rebooting Windows My current Mythtv backend is a Core i7 that's at least 8 years old.

Since it's running on Ubuntu I think I know the answer to this, but wanted to confirm. If I change the zipcode in sd4tvh and re-select channels for the data I'm getting from SD, does it affect other setups like my home Mythtv that also uses SD for it's schedule data with my home zipcode. Not sure about sd4tvh. If I change the zipcode in sd4tvh and re-select channels for the data I'm getting from SD, does it affect other setups like my home Mythtv. Adding a lineup with a different zip code to SD should not adversely affect other SD clients.

The other SD clients might see one more lineup when they query SD, but that shouldn't be a big hit on performance.

However deleting a lineup that is used by another SD client would definitely have an adverse impact. Okay, first test of changing zipcode when on the road didn't work. Maybe you can figure out where I went wrong. I tried this first with the exact same setup I used at home with Zipcode 1. After that didn't work as expected I did a fresh install of LE 9.It's a wrapper over the original comskip software.

Thank you for writting the comskip addon. I am a bit of a noob, wondering if you can calrify a bit on how to get this working. I see from your github that the contents of the tools. Also, what do I do after I place the files in the correct location? I tried to install the addon from the zip file but that did not work. Any noob friendly instructions would be very appreciated!

I imagine this could become a very popular addon with all the PVR folks. Thanks for the quick response, makes sense now. Those compile instructions are a bit over my head. I will wait for you or someone else to compile for pi 3 in spare time. Can you try this: tools. For anyone reading this and wanting to get it to run, I had to first change my tvheadend interface level to "Expert" and uncheck "Replace whitespace in title with '-':" to get the addon to run.

One last issue, and that is the log is saying that I do not have a comskip. This will depend on what TVHeadend names the recordings. If your recordings have whitespaces in their names, this will be required. When I add the ini location to the tvheadend post-processing script, it pulls the ini file and reads it ok, but then does not process further.

I did an ssh into the system to run it manually and see what happens, and after reading file, the last output line is "segmentation fault core dump ". I tried running again with a few different ini files, same result.

The proof of concept explores what is possible using low end hardware for a PVR. At completion of the steps you will be able to record up to 2 television stations simultaneously while also watching a recorded TV show.

Update : Added section "L" instructions to improve ability to recover properly after a power outage so that TV programs can be recorded without manual intervention. The PVR as originally built without heatsinks was not stable. Under load the RPi3 would hang due to overheating.

For example I ordered the following aluminum case. That was 6 years ago, and that doesn't mean that I haven't been curious about potentially less expensive options. From that experience I learned that Kodi appears to have been supported for a longer time on the RPi. You might instead use Windows and Putty for ssh. When selecting the hardware it is a good idea to have some goals to help guide decisions.

For this proof of concept PVR I desired the following features:. I researched specifications and theoretical boundaries to come up with my choices of hardware components. First the dry reading.

If you wish to skip over the specifications, feel free as you can refer back to these if necessary. RPi3 specifications :. The above specifications and theoretical boundaries led me to realize that if I were to encounter a bandwidth limitation, it would most likely be due to a network constraint and not a USB bus constraint. This meant the potential combinations I could use for a maximum use scenario of watching one recording with two recordings in progress were:.

Note also that I opted for the above USB hard drive because it was reported to work when directly connected to the RPi3. TIP : You can often save some cash by purchasing the top five or six components in a Raspberry Pi 3 kit. Ensure that the device is unmounted by checking the output from df to see if the device is in use. Be sure to use the correctly identified device!

At first power up the image will be resized to use the entire microSD card, and then the RPi3 will reboot. At Networking screen with Wired and Wireless networks listed choose Next.

Choose Next. For example I heard audio crackling when playing TV show recordings after LibreElec automatically updated to 8. Change Automatic Updates to manual. Reboot to stop any currently downloading system update in progress. The license key will be sent to the email address you provide can take up to 72 hours.

Comskip with Tv headend

If you wish to share a microSD card image with multiple RPi3s then you can string together a maximum of 8 licenses. For example:. Navigate right to Audio output device and press Enter.

The reason for disabling wireless networks is to reduce the power required by the RPi3 and hence have more power available for the hard disk drive.
